What is the difference between robin and nightwing

Nightwing disarms Red Hood and floors him, taking the gun and aiming it at his predecessor. Luckily Barbara swoops in for a successful sneak attack as Dickyboy is seconds away from taking the life of his fellow Bat-Family member. Batgirl destroys the crystal that Joker used to control Nightwing, freeing him from the madman's power.

Nightwing is still the deadliest Robin that Batman ever trained because he is a variation of The Caped Crusader himself. The major difference in this battle is that Nightwing does not show the mercy that Batman instilled in him because of The Joker's control.

If Nightwing were to ever follow Red Hood's path and choose to kill he would be even deadlier. Years of experience being the ward of The World's Greatest Detective and a life of training and hardship calloused Nightwing. Though he does not share Bruce's demeanor he has a very similar backstory and packs a punch that may even rival Batman's. While younger Robins like Tim Drake and Damian Wayne show great promise and natural ability, they lack the history that Dick has.

All Dick Grayson's predecessors are lucky to have him as a friend and mentor because he could be a deadly foe. In the world of Batman, Dick Grayson holds a special place. Not only was he the first Robin but he was the first of Batman's sidekicks to graduate to his own superhero identity. As Nightwing, Grayson struck out on his own and built a reputation as a respected hero.

But he was always available to provide backup to Batman whenever needed. Grayson's two greatest secret identities both had their own positives and their own impacts on DC. The Batman family has grown greatly over the years, starting out with only Alfred at the Caped Crusader's side.

But Batman's first sidekick was Dick Grayson, whose parents were killed by a mobster. Bruce Wayne brought him into his life and eventually, Grayson took on the role of Robin. He was the first person to wear that costume and became the standard that every Robin who came after him was measured by. Dick Grayson was the first, and possibly best, Robin. Being the first Robin also meant that Dick Grayson was the first person who left the identity behind.

Admittedly, he also made the transition to the next stage much smoother than most other Robins did, particularly Jason Todd. Dick made the jump to being Nightwing relatively well and became one of DC's preeminent heroes. He was the first Robin to make a significant impact as his own hero. The pairing of Batman and Robin is iconic, to say the least. It's hard to imagine one without the other.

As tough as Batman is, he needs a partner in the field to watch his back. Batman's war against crime in Gotham is not a one-person operation, no matter how he acts sometimes. As a team, they were virtually unstoppable since a hero always needs someone around to untie them from the giant clock face Joker has them strapped to this time.

Please explain. Last edited by The Firebrand ; 6 Aug, am. Showing 1 - 5 of 5 comments. That's what really confused me. Isn't Batgirl's boyfriend D. Grayson, aka Nightwing? He was in some of the comics and other games so how come it's Tim suddenly?

Crimes View Profile View Posts. Well dont be confused, there are a bunch of different Batman universes and Arkham Knight is not directly connected to any of the comics. The Arkham Trilogy is its own universe. Grayson was the first Robin, now Nightwing. Jason Todd was the second Robin. In Arkham Knight Nightwing and Barbara are only friends.
