Where to find aeonaxx in wow

If you find him at one of these spawns, make sure you kill him above open ground. If he does fall inside the pillar, don't panic.

See if there's any part of him sticking out that you can click on. If not, try to pull other nearby enemies and kill them close enough to his body to loot the mount via mass looting. Reins of the Phosphorescent Stone Drake will not get mailed to you if you fail it loot it off Aeonaxx's body.

If you are unable to loot the mount before Aeonaxx's body despawns, you can try sending a support ticket to Blizzard, but there's no guarantee they will award you the mount. A few of the rarest creatures in Azeroth again can only be looted by the first group to engage them. That's a Rogue ability. Do you mean Blink? If you are on a cloth class Priest, Warlock, or Mage , you will do a very small amount of damage if you are wearing no gear and melee the mob. Doesn't matter what faction gets it, as long as someone gets it, your computer or whatever, will see that item and know that it's there. It's like inspecting an ally char while in Dalaran. After that, I cleared my cache, and the item doesn't work yet. But the way the cache works, is that if someone has it, others will see it and then others will see it off of the first person who saw it. If that makes sense. Idk how long the corpse stays but there was no corpse anywhere in Deepholm when I flew around looking for him I took a break to do heroics and now the link works. Just my luck. Anyway, up to now, I haven't seen a single rare on my realm in the entire zone Shadowsong EU. The patrolling account will patrol the areas not covered by this "guard", which according to my calculations would be Storm's Fury Wreckage, Alabaster Shelf and the areas around the temple not already mentioned.

I will occasionally every rounds or so extend the flight path so that I am flying the southern half of path 1, southern part of path 2, and follow path 3 up to Verlok Stand where I plan to head for the Temple again. If this isn't going to give me results giving that I have the stamina and patience to pull this through , I don't see any other answer than that Aeonaxx has to spawn randomly around the zone.

If I am lucky enough to catch him, I will come back and if I remember it post a 2nd map with info about where I found him, where I think he spawned etc. Comment by Tysent Question - Is shapeshifting possible after mounting Aeonaxx? This was before there was really any information on here and I didn't even know the fight was bugged so naturally being a level 82 hunter I died in a minute or so due to being unable to hit the whelps or Aeonaxx. I was pissed but i had been camping for less than 24 hours so I thought he might not be that rare.

Since then I have litterally been constantly logged in and have no seen him once. Im just going to fess up, I use a bot to stay logged in constantly so besides server resets I have been constantly logged in and no sign of him. I read some of your theories about the jadefang correlation so I skilled up to 85 and added him to my npc scan to make sure he wasn't holding up some sort of rarespawn cycle. Sure enough he was there so I bugged up to his ledge and tamed him. This was today at ish.

At server my guildy killed the worm rarespawn thing I confirmed this through linked drops and corpse. It's now here and I'm hoping for Aeonaxx but not that hopeful. Oh by the way when I found Aeonaxx it was travelling counterclockwise around the temple and I found it directly outside stonecore entrace where I was camping at the same level as the entrace.

When he did the fight he did not stay on that path and randomly flew all over the zone. Goodluck everyone. I just spent all day camping AND all day reading this whole "thread" because we all know it more or less is at this point , I started at around JUST before server restart so since about AM this morning and it's now Camping on Azshara-Alliance.

As sad as it is, I'm a newbie at this, I didn't even camp for TLPD because I stopped playing for three years fairly shortly after BC came out so I've only started playing again just recently, so bear with me here if I sound like an idiot. Theory 1: What if we're going about this all wrong?

They've come up with new systems before, that's quite evident in the case of Time Lost Proto-Drake, what's stopping them from designing something like this? Maybe lower-pop servers are given a lesser priority to get the respawn?

But in a matter of chance, sometimes even the low pop servers could still get lucky and get 4 sightings within a couple days Theory 2: What if Aeonaxx isn't connected to the rarespawns in the AREA, but rather, rarespawns connected to his NPC ID? Or HALF his number or some weird crap like that? And not necessarily in ALL areas because clearly there are SOME people that did not have the achievement when they got the mount , but in certain phased areas.

That's my few cents, for anyone who wants it. I'm a bit too impatient to camp hardcore, and I'm not 85 yet either. It's better this way anyway, because if I'm questing on the outskirts of Deepholm and the scanner goes off, then I'll get him!

Where: Deepholm-coordinates 46,57 above the goblin shaman quest giver flying at a height that's at the top of the large pillars sitting next to the Stonecore entrance.

How: It's only been a few weeks out of Cataclysm Launch and there are a lot of long comments on wowhead that have already gotten high ratings and became green but what I'm posting could debunk a bit of their information. Well since Monday afternoon I began my hunt only I decided to wait at the coordinates 46,57 you can tell your in the right spot because you will be exactly above the goblin quest giver, the exclamation point on your minimap and fly a great deal higher than everyone else.

I managed to right click it and mount on it's back just before my guild mate got to it and went for a very wild ride which I will describe in a moment. Believe me when I say that this npc spawns very high up in the air, you know you are at the right height if you look over towards the Stonecare instance entrance and you see two sets of blue pillars This height and these coordinates are exactly where Aeonaxx spawned and I was very lucky to be sitting literally right next to it as it faded into my view.

Okay, now onto the fight. My character was a level 84 orc warrior in full T10 4set bonus dps gear with some cataclysm blues here and there, Fury spec.

I had about 74k hp while the npc had about k hp. I jumped on it's back immediately after it spawned and of course after reading everyones posts on Wowhead was very nervous and did not know if I was going to survive.

Let me say that this is not an easy fight for a dps that cannot heal. I managed to get the right angle to melee dps rather quickly but even with that edge I felt I had, Aeonaxx took me for a ride, doing circles around the temple of earth or so my guildmates said as I was so concentrated on my action bar at the time and spawning whelps constantly. I honestly couldn't tell how many whelps aeonaxx spawned because of the angle I had to face to be able to melee but they actually ended up draining my health pool rather quickly.

I did not think I was going to survive that fight and started to freak out thinking I would die and have the npc despawn after spending 3 days camping it but I got smart, pulled into defensive stance and basically played wack-a-mole with bloodthirst and heroic strike the only two abilities I was able to generate enough rage with to use on a consistent basis Luckily the healing from bloodthirst and my one enraged regeneration I was able to get off helped me to live long enough to dps k hp down.

I ended up having about 30k hp left by the time I made the killing blow. The body ended up if I remember correctly at coordinates 43,46 exactly.

It isn't skinnable or anything and sticks around for about minutes so if you have some smart ass on your server saying that they've killed Aeonaxx, make sure that you see the body before you give up your search. Remember that the spawn time is almost completely random so try not to believe it when people say that something like this mob has a 6 or 16 hour or even 1 week respawn timer. Just remember to check back every once in awhile in Deepholm and eventually you will nab it!

The 3rd and 4th pictures are where I was actually camping when he set off everyones npcscan addon and literally faded into view, so this is about the height he was flying at. Comment by My god! No sign of a drake, nor is it linkable. Have a guildy helping me also. Have an AFK botter north of temple, and someone south that I can't tell if they're botting or not.

See it this way, some guy said Aeonaxx spawned in the Crimson Expanse However, i am not doubting your success. Do not take it personal.

Just remember, you are the only one who has said this. Grats on your drake. But its not just me that wants screenshots, its everyone else.

Comment by So yesterday at about 5 server time, the same time everyone else seemed to be getting the sightings for Aeonaxx, sure enough scanner goes off. I turn around and hes right there! But hes tagged! Someone tagged so i chased them the whole way only to watch the person fail and Aeonaxx despawned. My question is now, if no one killed him, but he despawned, will i still have to wait a week? PS i was in Quartizite Baisen and he came from the pillars right next to it.

I got Deep into Deepholm, is there someone here who've seen the drake with that achievement? Just curious. Comment by Infamousphx All other spawn timers. Lets take TLPD for example. He has set spawn locations, and he has more than one possible route, these routes are well known and common. Take into consideration it is early in the expac as well though. Maybe even the Crimson Expanse! The thing that is so odd about this rare is that its not like other ones.

It does not have any timer like the others, and its spawns seem to be completely random within the zone. Jadefang - Spawns in one spot. Terborus - Spawns in one spot.

Golgarok - Spawns in one area. WoTLK - All rares in an exact area specific to them. But ive also takin this into heavy consideration.

What if when people see him he isnt "Spawning," but in fact just then appearing on their screen? Idk its too hard to tell things for sure but im no GM and i didnt make the game. Im not a professional guru at this, but it just seems a lot different from others dont you think? As a hunter though Ive found something out. Good luck guys and don't give up! Found him within my first 24 hours and failed the event. Not a whisper of him since then. To make matters worse there's now tons of campers in the basin where I've been at. Does it strike anyone else that not a single person has encountered aeonaxx outside the inner circle around the temple? Like literally haven't found a single confirmed one. Which makes me think by this point all his spawns are within the inner circle.

I am not sure where he pats because there were many people around and I jumped on him as soon as I saw him. I was right around 45, 53 when I watched him spawn. I was farming him by flying in a counter-clockwise circle around the Temple of Earth. The fight itself is simple. As many have said, you just have to spin around to face his tail and beat the tar out of him until he is dead. Easy win. The drakes were not a problem for me, but then I am a k hp pally tank.

Grats to everyone else lucky enough to get this one! As a side note, I was farming him for about 40 minutes. However, someone whispered me that they had been waiting for 4 hours prior to that for him to spawn. He does not spawn within the circle around the Temple of Earth, but rather a little bit aways.

You can see the spawn point from 45, 53 coordinates. He spawned in front of me but a ways out and a bit higher than the Stonecore entrance. So, for those of you that haven't seen a spawn in days. Find out if that quest is bugged out on your server, also. I'm not saying there's a connection, but at this point you never know.

Was camping at the basin and the guy who got it said it spawned there, dont know why my npc scan didnt go off when tabbed out since I tested to make sure it would. Oh well time to camp for 3 more days I guess. Have killed all the rares in the area a few times except Aeonaxx and that other dragon, cant remember the name.

Yet still no Aeonaxx sighting at all. Starting to really concider that it might be bugged on some servers now since the spawn timer cant be that high.

You are incapable of attacking Aeonaxx with your Ranged abilities and are forced to switch between Raptor Strike and Scatter Shot. Traps will not trigger nor will your pet stay in the air long enough to be of any assistance. However, I found it quite interesting to note that the Drake Spawns did nothing to damage me. After the help of a nearby guild mate, I was able to take down this monstrosity after a minute mid-air dual. Very much so worth it though. Now, just to help my friend get it Comment by Empethe Keep up the good work guys.

Just remember more people are going to find out about this, just like most rare spawns. This is probably the best time to get it, just dont give up :. Comment by Well as far as the other rare mobs go, i have bin killing them with little than an hour between them. Yesterday 3 of them in only 7 hours. Jadefang has an really high spawn rate but i beleive this is just because he is not easy to get to well as a elf it is So up to now i dont think the spawns are linked together. Same goes for Terburus that i have only seen dead. If they have something like Vyra and tlpd i couldnt be sure with who they share and the are meiles away from Aeonaxx.

I just got told a very convincing story that a DK saw him on the east side, went to mount him, but got knocked straight off his mount and he despawned, but I don't see this as possible as we have 1 person on every spawn over on the west side, how could he fly all the way over to east without buzzing our NPCscans?

He said it spawned out of the blue crystal on north-east side, right where the mailbox icon is if you have it turned on. He also said it didn't change altitude at all in the time he was spawned, if that means anything. Breaks my heart if he's not lying, as I've been here almost 65 hours now.

Comment by This is weird, my npc scan went of for Terborus but i can't see it anywhere not even as a dead npc. I'm already phased, level 85 and done all the quest in Deepholm. My rep is honoured with the Therazane fraction, does this means that i can't see any rares anymore in Deepholm, i coud've sworn in my case it looks like it have been camping for weeks now and i have'nt cached any rares except for that invisible Terborus.

I kept running every minutes to check on all the other rares besides just camping at my spot for the drake, no rares has been spotted or detected from my npc scan so far.. I only have just got NPC scan and i got the TLPD using a macro which i have set up again and spam just cus i dont know if i can fully trust NPC scan lol I probally wouldnt be so keen if i knew this thing had dropped already but knowing nothing has makes me think its got to happen sooner rather then later.

I found him pathing just a bit southeast of the Quartzite Basin. However, two of us were camping the basin itself and chatting. We'd been there for quite a while when I decided to do a loop around the temple. So he definitely has a second spawn point elsewhere. He was at the altitude of the Stonecore entrance pathing clockwise around the Temple.

My first thought was that he was at the basin, so I flew back there hoping to get on him before the other camper.

I spotted him higher up in the air, headed upward to him, and the warlock grabbed him seconds before I was there. Interestingly, I initially whispered "grats" to the fellow camper at the Basin, thinking he's the one that mounted him. His NPCscan hadn't gone off and he was understandably confused.

We found the warlock a few minutes later with the mount over the body of the dragon. Apparently she hadn't had any significant targeting issues. Off to Uldum for me. I'll come back in another 8 hours and continue my camping -- my only consolations being that a rival who was faster than I was is now out of the picture. And that some additional information about his respawn timer might be gleaned. Update: On further consideration, the dragon spawned almost exactly 48 hours after the last server reset.

Make him share a timer with another rare that had an extremely long one in the first place. Also, please begin to post your kills on Xari. They are now relevant. I'm not saying discard his information, definitely take it into consideration and keep an eye out for Xariona spawns in relation with Aeonaxx, but don't give up on other theories and ideas.

GMs are not infallible and I've seen them be dead wrong before. For example, I had a friend who got stuck in the landscape and contacted a GM who then suggested that she "update video drivers" so she wouldn't get stuck.

Which, for those of you who don't know, is completely ridiculous and those two things are not related at all. And again, he seemed to be getting his information from user-based assumptions and theories. NOT from official information. I already begun to think that there was more to it than a simple spawn, and since Xari is a rare in the area that is also a drake, I thought there may be a connection.

A world raid boss seems a little much, but Blizzard could possibly be unhappy with how often TLPD was farmed and obtained, thus making this one all the more difficult to get. Then again, this doesn't explain the sheer amounts that some server seem to have spawn. I've been camping since restart yesterday I transferred servers just before, as well, so starting anew , and I've yet to see ANY rare spawn.

It is plausible that the worm and giant was killed without my knowledge, but I have not picked up Xari or Aeo - at all. The links do not work, for the mount OR the gauntlets Xari drops, so I think it is safe to say neither has been killed - yet. I am very hesitant to believe they share the same timer, but given the GM's comment.. He says shares a spawn. A spawn what? I know, it is being picky with semantics, but I've had GMs do little riddles on me when it came to TLPD to get around 'I didn't actually tell them more than they already knew' bit.

One word being put in there - a confirmation of spawn what - could change the entire sentence and meaning. What exactly was asked that made the GM respond with that information? While this early in the expansion, we still do not know where all his spawns are. If people are flying stonecore level, they WILL miss him if he's flying above those orange rocks, because he will be out of range. Given this new bit of information, people will start watching Xari's spawns too, and we will probably quickly confirm or bust the GM's information.

Comment by Syncness 2 things, first, if we don't believe a GM, I honestly don't know who to believe for WoW related stuff.

Second, GM's aren't supposed to give out any in-game related information, I'm quite surprised I managed to get this from him, the next line under the screenshot he mentioned he had used some inside information which was actually odd, they're not supposed to do this. I was able to fraps everything short of the actual spawn in the process. I was tabbed out of the game, yet again, working on some boring ass meeting minutes when NPCScan nearly gave me a heart attack.

I tabbed back in and instantly started frapsing. This is the first thing I saw when I tabbed back in:. I have been camping on and off here and there for the past few months though. I've had a couple of misses all of which I was nowhere near the computer to even see , last night however I was tabbed out of the game working on my other blog when the good old NPCScan horn sounded.

I was in windowed mode, so I can absolutely confirm that being tabbed out in windowed mode will still allow you to hear NPCScan go off. Aeonaxx spawned in the Quartzite Basin spawn point, and although I immediately tabbed back in and headed straight for him a mage who was camping a bit closer got to him first. Luckily though, I was able to get everything on video.

Aeonaxx switching over from un-engaged to engaged Click image to zoom I also recorded something that I thought was worth sharing and that is the use of the SilverDragon addon while camping for Aeonaxx. If you look at the two screenshots above and to the right you can see that SilverDragon on the default setting will show you the difference between un-engaged Aeonaxx and Aeonaxx already in combat.

Not only do both id's get cached, but it actually tells you right in the pop-up box which one it is. I have found this to be incredibly helpful, especially for camping while not being right there at the computer. A couple of times I have come back to my computer with the NPCScan alert screaming at me, but instead of frantically flying around looking for Aeonaxx I could see right in the SilverDragon window that I only picked up engaged Aeonaxx while someone in-combat flew by.

So anywho, here is what I caught on video last night notice how incredibly fast Aeonaxx flies once engaged. Grats again Icarium! Blood Seeker Update: I'd like to add one other update as well, this one having to do with pesky lil Blood Seeker. For the past few months I have noticed that Blood Seeker has not been gracing us with his presence for nearly as long as he used to when he spawns in.

About a week ago I actually witnessed him spawn in and then disappear again in probably less than ten seconds. A few other times I have had SilverDragon alert me of his presence and I just wasn't able to find him before he disappeared again. Not sure if this is really helpful information or not, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

What this means is that if Aeonaxx or Blood Seeker spawn that neither will spawn again for at least 6 hours and could be up to 22 hours or longer. Phasing For a while Aeonaxx campers thought that being in different phases within the zone affected whether or not you could see Aeonaxx or if NPCScan would go off if Aeonaxx spawned.

This is not true. Not matter what phase you are in you will be able to see Aeonaxx, and if you are within range your NPCScan should go off. So if you haven't completed a single quest in Deepholm or you have completed all of them, it will not make a difference.

Overlay as well. Overlay adds an overlay to your map which displays where rare mobs patrol. What NPCScan does is track rarely seen mobs in the game by proximity. When a rare npc is found npcscan checks your creature cache and the mob becomes "cached". It is extremely important that you clear your cache often.
